Biography

The idea for a variety mix programme came from the thought that radio should be all about the unexpected. A bit like buying music, sometimes you can go into a shop and come out with something you did not intend to buy. Maybe it was something that was playing at the time or was displayed on one of those listening posts and you gave it a try, often never having heard the band or artist before. Listening to the radio should be like that too, a chance to hear something new, a suprise item that turns out to be something you like.

The Variety Mix is meant to be just that, a mix of different styles, not necessarily obscure songs, broadly based around rock but including indie pop, blues and some folk too.
